A day in the work

Layout workers spend time measuring workpieces with rulers, calipers, and gauges, then marking cutting lines, drill points, and bend locations using scribe tools, markers, or layout fluid. They reference blueprints and technical drawings throughout the shift, checking measurements against specifications. Work involves moving between different workpieces and stations, often standing at benches or work tables. Some workers also inspect finished layouts before the next production stage begins.
