Cardiologists
Cardiologists diagnose and treat diseases of the heart and blood vessels. They work in hospitals, clinics, and private practices, performing procedures like angioplasty and stent placement, interpreting echocardiograms, or managing electrical heart rhythms. Some specialize in one area; others handle a broad range of cardiac conditions.

A day in the work
A cardiologist's week typically includes patient consultations, diagnostic testing, and procedures. Time is split between reviewing test results and imaging scans, meeting with patients about medications and lifestyle changes, performing catheterizations or other interventions in the lab, and collaborating with other specialists. Documentation and staying current with clinical research consume additional hours.
